Resolved Question: I have heard many baseball people say, that if Johnny Damon makes it to the 3,000 hits club, he'll be the?

first to not get elected into the Hall. Currently, Damon is at 2,723 hits, and if he plays a couple more years, he should get to 3,000. But, he's certainly hot the only guy with 3,000 hits to not be in the Hall of Fame, look at Rafael Palmeiro, he had 3,020 hits, but he was a roider, so maybe that's what they meant. Anyway, I have no problem with putting in Johnny Damon into the Hall of Fame, but only if he gets to 3,000 hits, which at age 38 is very likely. Because Johnny is healthy, stays in great shape, and probably could play into his early 40's if he wanted to, and if teams wanted him. Here are some of Damon's career numbers in 17 seasons from 1995-2011, and currently he's a free agent, but I'm sure he'll get either re-signed by the Rays or play elsewhere in 2012 and beyond.
